A man condemned to death for killing six people is granted a reprieve by the government under specific conditions. He must capture a set number of fugitives within a limited timeframe to secure his freedom; failure means forced servitude. His handler is a government employee who appears upbeat but is perceptive and believes the man might possess an unusual talent.
