A young woman named Azusako, who lost her mother early in life, enters service at the Imperial Court during the Heian period as a lady-in-waiting. She possesses the ability to see supernatural beings, which earns her the nickname "Mysterious Princess" and leads to rumors about her. Despite wanting to stay unnoticed, she attracts the attention of Mitsukage, a nobleman favored by the Emperor. He involves her in an investigation into unusual occurrences taking place within the court.
