Lailah to Shinitagari no Kemono

In a corrupt city where wealth and influence dominate, chimeras—beings part human, part animal—face widespread discrimination and occupy the lowest rung of society. Aron, a chimera, was raised in isolation by the mafia, trained solely for violence and kept mentally stunted. His only comfort is a picture book featuring a blue-eyed girl who leads the story’s hero to heaven. Aron longs to find this girl, believing she will free him from his torment. During a mission, he encounters Leila, a girl with the same blue eyes as in the book, and sees her as his salvation. For the first time, he defies his handlers and flees with her, pursued by the mafia in a world he barely understands, while Leila resents him intensely.
