Yakumo Atae, a first-year student, is aware of a secret about his intimidating classmate Tsurugi Yabusame: despite being the school's strongest girl, she is also a light novel writer using the pen name Mio Himemiya. Tsurugi is struggling with writer's block on her new romantic comedy. Yakumo's cousin, Kokona Atae, who works as Tsurugi's editor, proposes that Yakumo and Tsurugi start dating to help her gain firsthand experience with romance.
