A high school student named Miko "Meeko" Sonoda relocates to her uncle's boarding house after her parents depart to assist with her sick grandmother. Among the house's peculiar residents is Matsunaga-san, the most senior and irritable figure. With assistance from her new housemates, Meeko starts to adapt to life without her parents. However, she discovers that despite the distance from home, her youthful nature remains, particularly as she develops feelings for Matsunaga-san.
