An ancient nation known as the Dragon Dynasty is experiencing growing prosperity due to the perpetual motion machine, which propels the city forward like a locomotive. The narrative follows Long Zhengyi, a man who awakens in an unfamiliar city with no memory of his past. Through notes he had written before his amnesia, he uncovers the truth about the country. The Dragon Metropolis is revealed to be a contested territory divided among powerful factions. Beneath its surface lies decay caused by the perpetual motion machine. His notes also caution him to escape the city before it collapses.
