Miyako comes from a wealthy family and has been raised under strict conditions. She is deeply attached to Chiaki, her distant cousin, whose personality contrasts sharply with hers. Their relationship faces resistance from Miyako’s mother, who disapproves and sets up a marriage arrangement for her. As Miyako makes plans to run away with Chiaki, she discovers that he has already disappeared.
