Magic is a fundamental part of daily life and civilization, upheld by the queen's knights and the Rev's Magic Association. Sixteen years prior, monstrous Beast Fiends began appearing, devastating everything they encountered. Mattias, the Magic Association's leader, used a forbidden power to seal the source of these creatures, but his efforts cost him his life. Now, new Beast Fiends are emerging, and the kingdom struggles to maintain security. Fatima, a witch with rare Shadow Frost Magic, has turned against the Association, escalating tensions. In response, the kingdom secretly researches a simpler method of using magic, culminating in the creation of the "Runic Engine." Roland, a trainee knight, becomes entangled in these events when he is unexpectedly infused with the new power, placing him at the center of both the Beast Fiend threat and the conflict with Fatima.
