M Girls Gaiden: Saber Marionette Z

Three centuries after the demise of Star Face, marionettes were developed using maiden circuits derived from the original six. Over time, these circuits have deteriorated in each new generation, causing some marionettes to become unstable and destructive. Kitajima, the daughter of a professor who studied solutions for malfunctioning circuits, seeks to complete her father’s research by finding the "Inheritance of Face," believed to hold the key to the circuit failures. During an expedition to the tomb of Face, she and others are ambushed by rogue marionettes and saved by a mysterious marionette named Zero. Originally intended as an OVA sequel to another series, this story was later adapted into an eight-part release, with the first seven chapters in manga form and the final chapter published as a novel, which is not included here.
