Aku Maya is a demon sent to the human world to gain practical experience. She resides in a boarding house and goes to school disguised as a human girl, concealing her true identity from her close friends Sui, Sawa, and Arata. Her mission involves using a device called an "evil checker" to gather negative energy from those around her. However, she finds little enjoyment in the task. At the same time, she worries about how her friends would react if they discovered her demonic nature.
