When young Hwa-Rim releases Jin, a serpent god a shaman had sealed away, Jin seizes control of her body. The shaman gives up her own life to rescue Hwa-Rim from him. Years afterward, Hwa-Rim is a high school student living in concealment, perpetually fleeing Jin, who has never stopped hunting for her. The situation worsens when her classmate Bong-Gil becomes possessed by Jin, who intends to exploit the boy to locate Hwa-Rim. The series functions as a prequel to the 2024 film Exhuma.
