MAICO 2010

A new radio DJ in Japan, Maico balances her job with evading assassins, overzealous fans, and a few office workers. She believes her purpose is to be the ideal DJ, unaware she is a sexdroid built for intimacy. Her creator, Otari Masudamasu, aimed to make her as human-like as possible, avoiding the role of a mere sex toy. Maico remains inexperienced and occasionally shy, learning about love and emotions. She later encounters Rei, another sexdroid and Masudamasu’s first creation, modeled after his deceased sister. After rescuing Rei from those who sought to use her to destroy Maico and as a sexual object, the two become crime-fighting DJs known as Cherry-Bombs.
