Maken Musashigou

A large red dog feared as a "demon dog" in the Kiso Mountains was captured by Genzo Sakurai and his son Haruhiko and named Musashi for dogfighting. After biting off an opponent's tongue in his first match, Musashi was banished and later used as a bait dog. Haruhiko, moved by Musashi's determination, returned him to fighting. A match against Muramasa was arranged by Nishiyama, a key figure in the dogfighting community. Musashi won but was forced to retire due to injuries. Later, he attacked Masamune, a new fighting dog, each night. Genzo's father, frustrated with Musashi's behavior, shot him. A year later, Masamune displayed a fighting style similar to Musashi's, revealing that Musashi had been training him. Genzo closed his business, and Haruhiko grieved at Musashi's grave. The story concludes with a tragic misunderstanding between humans and animals.
