In 1947, in the South American Amazon, a boy named Tommy is separated from his father while the man investigates ancient ruins. He encounters a girl named Shanana, who appears before him unexpectedly. Lacking basic social awareness, Shanana acts boldly and in ways that surprise Tommy. Their meeting may have far-reaching consequences.
