A narrative exploring complex themes of desire and emotional turmoil unfolds within a confined apartment complex. The story is divided into nine segments, each focusing on distinct characters and situations. One segment, "The Italian Baby Carriage," portrays the sorrow of an Italian woman dealing with loss. Another, "Dry Flower," examines the relationship and intimacy between two women who have experienced personal trauma. A third, "The House of the Scarlet Peony," follows a woman in Ginza whose fascination with a red peony carving leads to disturbing behavior. Each episode presents a unique perspective on human emotion and psychological states within the isolated setting.
