By the year 2999, Earth is home to only eleven surviving cities, where a biochemical catastrophe has eradicated all women. Society now relies on a single woman, the Holy Mother, whose genetic material is used to produce engineered offspring. After the Holy Mother is killed by a terrorist named Grinja, the government conceals the truth to prevent public unrest, claiming she will soon be reborn. In secret, efforts are underway to create a male with XXY chromosomes capable of reproduction. Kira, the result of this experiment, becomes entangled in a complicated relationship with Grinja and Ashijin, a man who asserts ownership over him. The narrative explores Kira's struggle for autonomy within a rigidly structured and male-dominated world.
