Mii-chan to Yamada-san

Yamada works as a hostess in Shinjuku's nightlife, juggling school and her job while prioritizing the latter for its financial rewards. Many women enter the profession for similar reasons, but in 2012, she encounters Mii-chan, a small, clumsy woman with limited reading and writing skills who struggles in the club. Despite facing mockery, Mii-chan's cheerful and persistent nature captures Yamada's attention. Their relationship develops into a close bond, forming the basis of a story about an unexpected friendship and the eventual, sorrowful separation that ends their connection.
