Mimurake no Musuko

In a rural setting, Yumi and Toshi are childhood friends who grow closer during their teenage years. Toshi begins to develop unspoken emotions for Yumi, and his connection deepens when he becomes involved with Yumi’s older brother, Sumi. This leads to a complicated dynamic between the three. Later, Kyu, another character, discovers Toshi’s relationship with Sumi and becomes determined to pursue Toshi himself. He devises a plan to study with Toshi for college entrance exams, but it backfires when Kyu fails while Toshi succeeds. Kyu’s efforts to win Toshi’s affection face further obstacles as Toshi distances himself and Sumi reenters the picture. In the final volume, Kyu returns to his hometown and reconnects with Toshi, who is also back home. They spend time together, and Kyu makes a significant decision that could impact their relationship. The story ends with uncertainty about whether their feelings will be resolved.
