Chu Feng, a failed assassin, died after leaping from a cliff while being pursued. In the afterlife, he spent five centuries rising through the underworld ranks, eventually becoming the most powerful demon, the Demon King. His sole goal during this time was to reunite with his lover on Earth, which he believed possible by destroying the Pearl of Death.
