A cat named Hachi finds high school and its associated activities dull and uninteresting. Upon the arrival of a new student, a lizard named Aoi, who is quiet and academically successful, Hachi begins to see the possibility of a more vibrant life. As Hachi attempts to help Aoi become more open, both experience new emotions and the potential for a less monotonous existence.
