In 1920 Gyeongseong, during the early years of Japanese colonial rule in Korea, a Japanese boy's death at a school lantern festival leads suspicion toward Kim Mugyeong. Despite increasing pressure, Mugyeong remains silent, prompting authorities to seek answers elsewhere. Questions arise about the two boys' hidden past and Mugyeong’s refusal to speak. Amid shifting social and political tensions, young people struggle to navigate their circumstances.
