Mugen Shinshi Kaiki-hen

This entry in the Mugen Shinshi series presents a more mature and serious version of the detective Mamiya Mugen. The story is divided into three volumes, each containing several short cases. Volume 1 includes cases such as a ghost ship, an elderly couple, a vampire, a swamp, a ghostly lady, a mansion with a head, and a woman with needles. Volume 2 covers a tree spirit, a revelation, a dream demon, an elevator, a spider, and a half-human figure. Volume 3 features fireworks, a demon, a snake, a night gathering, a doll hell, a distant road, and a tiger. The 2007 release of Shinsouban Mugen Gaiden, volume 1, provided clarification on the different story versions and character iterations. This series is labeled as "Seinen tantei A version."
