Mukui wa Mukui, Batsu wa Batsu

Matsubaki arrives in Japan after divorcing her unfaithful husband and travels directly to her sister’s secluded mountain home. Her sister is missing, and she seeks answers while trying to reconnect with her niece. Upon arrival, she struggles to navigate the estate and enters through the garden, where she meets Takiri, Michiyuki’s son from a previous marriage. Inside, she is introduced to Sagiri, the family’s de facto matriarch, who is devoted to her young son, Nami. The family members are unsettling, the house is vast, and a well-intentioned but useless butler assists her before being killed. The family's past is cloaked in secrecy, and there are hints of dangerous children influenced by a ghost.
