Rintarou Itoshiki, an unremarkable high schooler, is supposed to be looking after his family's storied blade, Muramura, when he is abruptly spirited away to another world. There he learns the sword is cursed, driving its wielder into an uncontrollable frenzy linked to every enemy they strike down. To find a way home and keep the curse in check, Rintarou resolves to gather a party of companions and conquer the realm's dungeons.
