In 2022, Japan has implemented a system where individuals without income for over six months undergo brain rewriting at regeneration facilities. Tatsuya Kamijou worked at a foreign investment firm until he was suddenly laid off. Six months later, instead of being sent to a playback facility, he is taken to a concentration camp.
