An attorney who typically handles copyright cases is approached by his landlord, who admits to killing a tenant, leading the lawyer to believe the matter is straightforward. However, the landlord dies under what appears to be suspicious circumstances before they can report the crime. Investigating the situation with a group of amateur detectives, the lawyer uncovers potential connections to a police cover-up, revenge pornography, and a murder that occurred seven years earlier. The case proves more complex than initially assumed.
