The manga continues the narrative from *Napoleon: Lion's Era*, starting in 1800 after Napoleon has secured his position as First Consul. It opens with the assassination attempt referred to as the Rue Saint-Nicaise plot and the efforts to uncover those behind it. As his authority grows, the stage is set for the emergence of the Napoleonic Empire.
