A bride is selected every hundred years to be sacrificed to a god, but this time the chosen one is Will. Instead of encountering a divine being, Will meets a large, wild creature unlike anything he has seen before. The creature is a lion named Sachs. Hungry and seeing Will as an appealing and innocent-looking cat, Sachs claims to be God and takes him home.
