Nihon Seizetsushi

This collection features works by Hiroshi Hirata, focusing on historical events and figures from Japan's late Edo and early Meiji periods. One story, the "Sakai Incident," highlights the loyalty and sacrifice of warriors during a time of significant social change. Other included tales explore themes of duty and honor through various historical contexts, such as governance, military service, and economic reform. Three of the stories have never been published before. The volume also provides a bibliography and a comprehensive list of Hirata's works.
