Nijiiro no Trotsky

A young man of Japanese-Mongol heritage, who lost his memories and family in childhood, is arrested and tortured during an anti-communist campaign. He is later freed by General Staff Officer Masanobu Tsuji of the Kwantung Army and enrolled at Kenkoku University in Manchuria, a school established under Japanese military rule. There, he discovers that his father knew Trotsky, the founder of the Red Army. He learns he was admitted to the university at the request of the military leadership, with the aim of bringing Trotsky into the country. The story follows his struggle to survive amidst the political maneuvering of the Japanese military in former Manchuria.
