On the day someone turns 16, a red thread appears on the left ring finger, supposedly linking them to their soulmate. Akito Sanada's thread is attached to his classmate, Riran Kuonji. They frequently argue and their relationship does not improve despite the connection. Both believe they are disliked by the other. The story follows their difficult dynamic as a clumsy girl and a somewhat indifferent boy navigate their complicated bond.
