A forest surrounds the giant sacred tree of Okoya, home to many Pokémon living in peace, including Zarude, a phantom Pokémon that governs the area. One day, a Zarude discovers a human child in the forest, despite their strict rule of avoiding humans. This Zarude chooses to break the rule and live with the child. The story explores the unique relationship that forms between the Zarude and the human.
