Gold selects one of three newly discovered Pokémon, only to be unexpectedly chosen by one of them. His goal is to become the Pokémon Champion by defeating Gym Leaders and earning their badges. At the same time, Team Rocket reappears, engaging in their usual schemes. A mysterious individual in black also enters the story, adding further complexity to the unfolding events.
