Hazel, a girl with a crush on a Pokémon trainer named Almond, asks her grandfather—a magician and researcher—for a love potion. Instead of creating a romantic effect, the potion causes an explosion in the lab due to his lack of skill. To gain access to more potions, Hazel agrees to accompany her grandfather on a journey to study Pokémon. However, her main goal remains finding Almond.
