Shima struggles to fit in at school and has a difficult relationship with her third stepfather, prompting her to relocate to Sapporo to live with her biological father. There, she meets Wao and Gen. Despite knowing that associating with them will likely lead to her being ostracized by her female classmates, she continues to spend time with them, as she has developed feelings for one of them.
