In a near-future Japan marked by rapid innovation, individuals can use bio-printers to create custom companions. Sato attempts to print a Shiba Inu but instead produces an unusual, previously unseen creature. Though unsure of how to care for it, he grows fond of the soft, squishy being. His friend is also captivated and names it Mochimochi. Sato later discovers others like Mochi, expanding his circle and raising new questions about these unique printed creatures.
