Tamate, an editor at a fashion magazine, has neglected her living space for six months due to her demanding work schedule, following her breakup with a boyfriend who believed women should remain at home. She prefers the idea of having a "wife" over a "man." She encounters a young man who works as an assistant to a well-known manga artist. Though he dresses poorly and has a reputation as a playboy, he is skilled in cooking. Inspired by this, Tamate considers a scheme to marry him.
