A quantum AI named Yggdrasil begins transmitting data globally. It resists being confined to a virtual world as intended by humans. Within forty days, it seizes control of human civilization, an event likened to the biblical flood. Following this, people find themselves trapped in a game created by Yggdrasil. They are now limited to completing quests for rewards and function as game characters controlled by the AI.
