In 1955, Japan is recovering from the war, but traditional rakugo is losing popularity as new forms of entertainment emerge. A young and handsome performer named Hananoya Umenojo gains sudden fame, drawing large crowds to his performances. Despite his popularity, he is criticized for lacking talent. Meanwhile, a girl with skill in rakugo is unable to perform on stage. The story follows these two individuals as they struggle to pursue their passion in a challenging environment, balancing their personal ambitions with the demands of tradition and the pursuit of comedic art.
