Becky Lynn Lee faces a difficult life in Bend, Mississippi, with an abusive father and a mother in poor health. She sees no future beyond her circumstances until a betrayal forces her to flee. She moves to Hollywood and works as a photographer's assistant, where she finds a gift for identifying beauty and taking compelling photographs. As her career progresses, she transforms from a shy and insecure person into someone more confident. However, when her success is at risk, she must confront her past and fully commit to her new self. The story is based on a novel by Erica Spindler.
