A middle-aged man with low self-esteem and a lackluster life finds solace in a virtual bishoujo game. Takurou, working a dead-end job and living a lonely, unhappy existence, spends his remaining savings on visits to a brothel to avoid complete isolation. Through a friend, he discovers a virtual reality system called "The Unreal," where users can buy a personalized virtual girlfriend. After investing over $6000 in equipment, Takurou purchases one named Tsukiko, who is supposed to be devoted to him. However, it soon becomes apparent that she has some unusual flaws.
