A royal prophet in the Kingdom of Bandiera declares that the Demon King, sealed away 500 years ago, is about to be resurrected. In response, four heroes are dispatched to the site where the Demon is imprisoned. At the same time, Charlie Barett, an unenthusiastic gate keeper, remains in the Royal City, performing a job he dislikes and frequently expressing his dissatisfaction to his captain and colleagues, including a coworker named Jimmy Monbarn, who appears generic in appearance.
