A military unit from the Ground JDSF, led by Hiroyaki Kuze, is deployed aboard a fleet of ships meant to support a UN mission. The fleet's main vessel is the Aegis-class destroyer Ibuki. During transit, an unexpected event occurs when a girl with wings moves the fleet to a different world, one characterized by swords and magic.
