A creature known as Hanyang is compelled to live in a human dwelling, attempting daily to shift into human form to accompany a child named Zhu Mingquan. Previously, a man rescued Zhu Mingquan from danger. Without that intervention, Hanyang might not have ended up in this predicament. Hanyang resents the situation, emphasizing that he is still a male being.
