Ryou

A girl named Ryou believes she is living an ordinary life in a high school in modern Tokyo. During a school trip, she is attacked by a man who identifies himself as Benkei, a warrior monk from the Heian era known for collecting 999 swords from defeated opponents. The man claims Ryou is Ushiwakamaru, the 1000th and final opponent who, according to legend, defeated Benkei and became his master. However, historical records state that Ushiwakamaru was male, and both figures lived in 13th-century feudal Japan, raising questions about Ryou's true identity and the reality of her situation.
