Mukai Sachi experiences constant misfortune—minor injuries, misplaced belongings, and random mishaps. Her troubles intensify with Gokurakuin Misako, the lone member of the Occult Research Society, who is intelligent, attractive, and socially isolated. Misako is fascinated by Sachi’s perceived ability to attract strange and inexplicable events and wants to experience them herself. Sachi, however, has no interest in the occult. Despite this, Misako persistently tries to recruit her into the society, adding to Sachi’s string of bad luck.
