A deity associated with war and the protector of Mars was previously subdued by Seiya, but his return is now imminent. At the same time, Saori Kido, also known as Athena, is raising Kouga, a boy whose life was saved by Seiya. Kouga undergoes daily training to become a Saint in anticipation of an impending threat. He remains unaware of his role in the unfolding events. When Kouga discovers the latent power within him, a new Saint's story begins.
