A teenager named Masataka Tagami moves from the countryside to Tokyo during the Taisho era to attend a preparatory school. Shortly after arriving, he collides with Soma Saiki, a 25-year-old from a prominent family and head of their trading business. Unable to find stable housing, Masataka offers to work as a servant for the Saiki family. As he lives under their roof, he develops a closer relationship with Soma and begins to uncover hidden aspects of the family's history.
