A young and influential ruler leads an expanding empire. A princess from a desert kingdom is given to him by her newly crowned brother. Struggling to navigate the unfamiliar customs of the imperial court, she is left to adapt on her own. After an intimate encounter, the ruler bestows upon her the status of concubine, drawn to her innocence and simplicity. Their connection is strong despite their contrasting backgrounds. However, tensions arise as other concubines grow envious and court officials express disapproval.
