Tombo runs a bamboo toy shop near Yoshiwara Gate in Edo, but the shop also operates as a money-lending business. His main responsibility is to collect unpaid debts from the Yoshiwara district. Despite the challenges and difficult situations he encounters, Tombo manages to resolve each case, even though he appears to be an unlikely candidate for the job.
